Lipocryolysis is a new technology that results in localized fat reduction with a noninvasive procedure,
A special transducer is positioned on the selected area in order to combinate vacuum action to capture the subcutaneous tissue and selective cryotechnology to cool it.
The fat cells (adipocytes) in the subcutaneous tissue (under the dermis) are mostly saturated fatty acids rich cells, and as a consequence, especially sensitive to cold exposure; on the other hand, the surrounding elements such as blood vessels, peripheral nerves, melanocytes, fibrocytes, are much less sensitive to cool exposure.
This characteristic results in the elimination of the adipocytes without damage to the surrounding tissues.
The elimination process of exposed adipocytes to the Lipocryo action is as follows:
Indirectly as a consequence of the sympathetic nervous system stimulation that will induce lipolysis.
How long is the application?
Depending on the size of the area to be treated it is possible that more than a single application is necessary. For instance we will need 2 applications for the abdominal area, L for each "love handles", and 2 for lower back.
Each application will last from 25 to 34 min., depending on the thickness of the adipose tissue.
How many sessions will we need?
Depending on the fatpad thickness and the desired reduction, we will need from 1 to 3 sessions. Preferable waiting time between 2 sessions is approx. 45 days.
What will the results be?
Depending on the initial adipose tissue thicknessand the number of treatments, the average loss will be from 3 to 15 mm or 25%to 45%.

When will the patient see the results?
Approx. 3O%to 40% of the result will be visible after 15 days, but we will have to wait 6 weeks as a minimum to appreciate the full result. At this time we will decide if another session is advisable.
What does the patient feel during the session?
The procedure is not painful for the patients; they will feel a slight tension close to the treated area due to the vacuum effect, and an intense cold local feeling, mainly at the beginning of the procedure.
What does the patient feel after the session?
Usually: redness and numbness on the treated zone that can last a couple of hours after the session.
Exceptionally: slight hematoma that will resorb within a few days.
The patient can resume normal daily activities without special discomfort immediately after the session.
Are the results definitive?
The adipocytes that will be eliminated through the Lipocryo procedure will gradually release their lipids first, before being definitively absorbed by the natural body metabolism.
Who is the ideal candidate for Lipocryo procedure?
Lipocryo is specially indicated for local adiposities : the ideal candidate is not the obese patient with general adiposity, but the one who wants to reduce localized fat deposits concentrated for instance on abdomen, flanks, lower back, arms etc.
What is the main difference compared with other procedures?
The Lipocryo treatment results in a notable and natural reduction of fat tissue, avoiding the traumatic experience of invasive methods (liposuction), and the risk of damage to surrounding tissue as it can occur with radio frequency or high frequency focused ultrasound.
